Still thinking about the opportunities and the images from the football games I was lucky enough to shoot. With over 3500 images, I had to share a few more.
One occasion that sticks in my mind was the first Grand Final that I shot in 2007. I was there at sunrise and stuck around until the celebrations were over and the sun had gone down. I was hoping to catch a post-match shot of the MGC environment once the crowds had left. From one side of the MCG a group of people and a stretcher came out and a young Geelong fan was wheeled into the middle of the ground. His hair was painted in blue and white and they spent a bit of time on the field, one of the people attending collected a bag of confetti from the post-game celebrations and then they went off. As they were leaving, the young man pumped his arms; I think he really enjoyed the experience. It must have been something like Make a Wish and it look like a young fans wish had come true.
Got to love footy
